How to Deal with Pellets Post the Pellet Press
While the pellet press is obviously the most important piece of equipment in the pellet plant, it is not the only important part of the process. Once the pellet press has done its jobs in compressing the material into pellets, they need to be cleaned, cooled and packaged. When the pellets leave the pellet press there will be a percentage of fines within the pellets. Fines are basically dust, this dust can then be collected and sent back into the pellet mill. When the pellets leave the pellet press they are also very hot, and need to be cooled before they can be packaged. However they must not be cooled too quickly as this will cause the pellets to crack. Once the product is at room temperature it is ready for packaging and storage. For domestic customers this will probably mean loading into 15kg plastic bags. For industrial large scale users they will require tanker deliveries.
